“I think that the Christian tradition has done a great disservice to organized religion by concentrating on adoration of Jesus Christ.” ~ Fr Justin Belitz OFM.
OPEN LETTER TO HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS AND THE BISHOPS OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
It is with some degree of sadness that I write this article. But my conscience demands that I cannot ignore the long line of spiritual infamy in our Church, and I cannot let it pass without a particular mention of Fr. Justin Belitz OFM and his Silva Method of Mind Control, touted in Catholic parishes, especially here in Perth WA as, “Success: Full Thinking” and “Success: Full Living” and other titles, all promoting an undefined meditation in the advertising. For the sake of the faithful, priests, adults, teachers, parents, and children, I present this concern detailed below as an “Open Letter” to the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church for further, full, and proper, investigation into Fr Justin Belitz OFM’s occult activities and questionable doctrines. Let doctrinal and spiritual discernment and fraternal concern for the innocent prevail.
As a qualified Silva Master, Belitz has successfully morphed the occult Silva Method of Mind Control into titles more palatable with Catholic clergy and in turn to the laity and he is seemingly very successful in his alchemy.
Certainly, judging by the amount of visits to Perth WA alone over the last 22 years, it would confirm this to be so – Parishes that have hosted this occult master in Perth so far that I know are: North Beach Parish, Balcatta parish, Bunbury Parish, Infant Jesus Parish in Morley, Bateman parish, St. Andrew’s parish, Clarkson, Holy Family Kalamunda that includes Mary’s Mount Primary school, the Willetton parish and school to name a few. In addition, school staff in these areas are encouraged to post flyers to their students and parents. All these and more are where he has conducted his Success: Full Thinking retreat, and, May We All Be One workshops. Wendy Gellard and her Peace Be Still retreat centre in Chittering Valley WA seems to be the source of Belitz’s promotion here in Perth.
But why should we concern ourselves with this Catholic priest? See where and who if you dare http://www.guidemind.com/id31.html All Belitz’s programs are based the vile occult Course in Miracles and the Silva Method of Mind control of which he is a registered and trained master. In addition, he has no problem calling on and using the works of the excommunicated priest, Matthew Fox and his heretical Creation Sprituality. At the formation of his method, the occultist, Jose Silva trained 39 schoolchildren from Laredo, Texas, in the use of ESP (Extra Sensory Perception). A book of the subject states that Silva “had developed the first method in history that can train anyone to use ESP ( Extrasensory Perception), and he had thirty-nine repeatable experiments to prove it.” In a quick parallel, we must take serious note that Belitz also taught in Catholic schools in Cleveland, OH, at Padua High School for 13 years. He was also on the Administrative Team at Trinity High School for 2 years. Regarding Jose Silva, Rex Stanford says, “Perhaps no other large organization makes such a direct claim to ESP training as Silva Mind Control. The training generally takes 48 hours, culminating in a weekend intensive, and one “graduates” by ostensibly passing an ESP test which involves diagnosing the personality and medical condition of an unknown individual. Hundreds of thousands of individuals have taken this training and readily offer testimony as to its effectiveness.” He continues, “The training involves basic exercises in concentration, relaxation and visualization. The experience, while intense, is said to be rather pleasant. The techniques begin with simple exercises in visual imagination. Students begin by imagining the details of their own homes. Students are asked to actually feel the objects in the house, and also to cause their colors to change.
In the next session students mentally project themselves into cubes or cylinders of various metals. Then students project themselves into various plants. Then the projection of the mind is into a pet animal, examining each part of the body individually. From this follows the graduation exercise of doing a psychic diagnosis on a human being.” This is exactly what Justin Belitz teaches in Catholic parishes. Naturally, one also has to question those that allow this man to violate the faith of parishioners. Fr. Justin Belitz teaches these methods to Catholics and he has the blatant gall to call these little psychic reading circles, “prayer groups.” In these so-called prayer groups, people are taught yoga meditation as the primary source of trance. This is in order to project and read another person’s psyche as did Edgar Cayce, who entered into yogic trances to consult the Karmic Records and projected himself into another person’s body and mind to find cures.
Prior to my conversion to Christ and entry into the Catholic Church, I was very involved with Eastern Mysticism, and became a fan of Edgar Cayce.
Edgar Cayce, known as The Sleeping Prophet, was an American reputed to have had psychic abilities. He is claimed to have demonstrated an ability to channel answers to questions on subjects such as health or Atlantis, while in a self-induced trance. Although Cayce considered himself to be a devout Christian and lived before the emergence of the New Age movement, some believe he is the founder of the movement and
was influential on its teachings.
Cayce became an American celebrity towards the end of his life, and the publicity given to his prophecies has overshadowed what to him were usually considered the more important parts of his work, such as healing (the vast majority of his readings were given for people who were sick) and theology (Cayce being a lifelong, devout member of the Disciples of Christ). Skeptics challenge the claim that Cayce demonstrated psychic abilities, and conventional Christians also question his unorthodox answers on religious matters (such as reincarnation and Akashic records). He may have been the source for the idea that California would fall into the Pacific Ocean (though he never said exactly this).
Today there are tens of thousands of Cayce students. Most are located in the United States and Canada, but Edgar Cayce Centers are now found in 25 other countries. The Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE), headquartered in Virginia Beach, VA, is the major organization promoting
interest in Cayce. (Wikipedia). Like Cayce, Father Justin Belitz et al, also profess to be devout Christians. However, I do not know of Belitz claiming any direct connection with Cayce, but by comparison, from my experience, it is exactly the same thing, and so it is with the Justin Belitz pseudo prayer groups. This method of psychic invasion is the same Kything technique used in the Enneagram to connect to another’s spirit to draw on their so-called gifts. http://www.flameministries.org/kything.htm
A close look will establish the link between Catholic priests; Fr. John Main, Dom Freeman, Fr. Richard Rohr, Fr. William Johnson, Fr. Justin Belitz, Thomas Merton, Anthony De Melo, Fr. Bede Griffiths, and many others not to mention the Nuns. All their methods and programs seem different, but in fact, they are not. Yoga, Visualization, and Mantras, seem to be the chosen occult method of meditation to achieve their New Age agendas. (Stanford 1976) “The philosophy of this training is couched in psychophysiological jargon relating to EEG brain waves. Students are told to enter into an “alpha level” where they can contact their inner mental resources. The use of this terminology has been highly criticized as inaccurate and even antiscientific.”
The Silva Method causes paranoid states. A Silva Mind Control Class for Children (Stanford 1976) makes the following comments: “Granted the inability of the typical student to adequately evaluate the Para- psychological outcome of his training, granted the high-powered salesmanship, the morale-boosting atmosphere, and that the student has paid a considerable sum for such a course, it is little wonder that many persons leave the course feeling it has been a success. They graduate believing themselves capable of using ESP and other psychic powers consciously and reliably. Stanford adds that in his experience, many individuals who have taken the mind control courses retain an objective perspective on what happened to them in the course and on what has been the long-term result. However, he maintains that a certain proportion of individuals “emerge with ideas which would normally be regarded as paranoid in character regarding their psychic ability to manipulate other people.” – (Stanford, R.A. “training” of psi ability. Paper presented at the symposium on the Application and Misapplication of Findings in Parapsychology, American Academy for the Advancement of Science annual meeting, New York City, January, 1975. In R.A. White (Ed.), Surveys in Parapsychology. Metuchen, N.J.:
Scarecrow Press, 1976.)
Justin Belitz’ web site says he holds an “Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy of Metaphysics from the American National Institute of Psychical Research for his outstanding programs in the study and practice of Metaphysics. He is also a distinguished and award winning Silva Mind Development instructor.”
“Unlike the original Aristotelian sense, this is Alchemy fundamental to New Age Consciousness. The metaphysics here is vastly different from that of Aristotle and St Thomas Aquinas (that includes cosmogony), wherein, in this case, alchemy attempts to change the physical at a subatomic level, as well as psychic and spiritual principles to re-create a Pre-Fall Adamic State denying Original Sin and God’s salvific plan in Jesus Christ. New Age Spirituality is a Theosophical view of God and Man to cause a change of consciousness establishing a new reality of a holistic, humanistic one-world- religion and universal spirituality.
Shamanist witchcraft, Yoga, visualization, breathing techniques and mantras are basic elements in achieving this. The Sanskrit word Mantra means, Magical Incantation and embodies a *deity. Based on the vibration of the breath and mantra it attempts change in the meditator at a deep subconscious level. This is fundamental to the Psychic Projection and ESP taught by Jose De Silva.
Inspired by New Ager Dr. Jerry Jampolsky MD who says he can help you tune in to the voice of your *inner teacher, Success: Full Living was developed from the book, A Course in Miracles. The problem here is that it is not the Holy Spirit and A Course in Miracles deceptively uses Christian words to teach sources from other religions. Now appearing in another form it is a true Alchemy. [ology + mysticism = occult]. Eddie Russell FMI; Catholic Record Newspaper 2003.
About the neferious Course in Miracles. “A Course in Miracles,” a 1,249-page study manual, was authored by the “inner voice” of research psychologist Helen Schucman between 1965 and 1972. Schucman, a professor at Columbia University and a self-described atheist at the time, claims the “voice” was that of Jesus Christ. In 1977, New Age guru and best-selling author Marianne Williamson discovered “A Course in Miracles” and helped spread its message internationally, reeling in stars such as Oprah Winfrey and Shirley MacLaine along the way. Today, the course has sold more than 1 million copies, and more than 2,000 groups in the United States meet to study the course, which Williamson calls “a self-study program of spiritual psychotherapy.”
A former disciple of “A Course in Miracles” who returned to the Catholic Church calls it a course in brainwashing. Moira Noonan, once a New Age minister and psychic, was introduced to the course 30+ years ago. Upon returning to the Church, she was shocked to find that “A Course in Miracles” is
sold in some Catholic bookstores and that many fellow believers are studying it. “They say in the course that the Holy Spirit wants us to have these new thoughts, a new reality,” Noonan explained. “It says right in the beginning of the course to question everything…. The course is Satan’s mockbible,” she said, adding that its disciples “want people to think it’s a religion, but it’s not.”
The Foundation for a “A Course in Miracles,” based in Roscoe, N.Y. is not affiliated with any church or denomination. Dr. Kenneth Wapnick, the foundation’s director, was a Catholic Seminarian about to enter the monastery when he met Schucman and read the manuscript for the course. A clinical
psychologist, Wapnick claims the course teaches that the way to recover one’s buried knowledge and memories of God is by “undoing” guilt through forgiving others. It aims to remove “the blocks to one’s awareness of love’s presence,” which is every person’s natural state of mind. Jesuit Father Mitch Pacwa, who has written on New Age religions, sees how such language can resonate with Catholics, luring them to study the course. “The key problem is the [course’s] pseudo – Christian vocabulary and ideas,” said Father Pacwa. “People don’t know the Catechism, they don’t know their faith…. The course strongly rejects the use of reason and thinking…. This is precisely what makes the course feasible. Once you get rid of reason, you get rid of discussion.” –

I contend that in Justin Belitz’ case, his Silva Master status is not an impartial, independently bestowed award, but a formal graduation and recognition of exceptional practice. There is a difference between accepting an award and obtaining degrees and practicing those beliefs as Justin Belitz Franciscan Hermitage web site says, “Fr. Justin holds graduate degrees in Theology, Music, Philosophy and Psychorientology and an Honorary Doctorate of Philosophy of Metaphysics from the American National Institute of Psychical Research for his outstanding programs in the study and practice of Metaphysics. He is also a distinguished and award winning Silva Mind Development instructor.”
Justin Belitz is a Metaphysical Practitioner. Metaphysics means, “A method of obtaining something.” Meta is the root word for Metamorphosis; to change form. Physics is the science of studying matter at a sub-atomic level. An atom contains a nucleus of protons and neutrons, surrounded by electrons. Quarks come in six evocative “flavours,” – up, down, strange, charmed, bottom, and top – and for each there exists an antiquark… Combinations of the up and down quarks make up the nuclear particles. [physicscentral.com]. The American Institute of Holistic Theology describes Metaphysics as, “The science that investigates first causes of all existence and knowledge. It seeks to explain the nature of being and the origin and structure of the world, bringing the physical, mental and spiritual character of mankind into its true perspective of holism… The Doctor of Metaphysics, or Metaphysician, ties them together into one, so that they are both psychological counsellor and spiritual comforter and healer.”
Note the correlation of the Metaphysics of “lower and up” with the Physics of “up quarks and down quarks” and “vibrations” as well as the practitioner being referred to as “the spiritual healer.”
Metaphysics is the ancient practice of Alchemy and the fundamental substance of New Age Consciousness. Alchemy attempts to change the physical, psychic and spiritual principles. In the human person it means to re-create a pre-fall Adamic state using Adamic Gifts and thus denying Original Sin and God’s Salvific plan in Jesus Christ. This is the New Age Spirituality. The New Age is not an organization or a particular religion, but a theosophical concept of God and Man: a metamorphic change of consciousness to create a new reality of holistic, humanist one-world religion. [ology + mysticism = occult].
The methodologies of the New Age are varied but have the same origin. Breath Control is a basic Metaphysic in Yoga meditation. Mantra [Sanskrit] means, Magical Incantation and in Hinduism, it embodies a deity. Based on the “vibration” of the breath it is believed to cause change in the universe and the meditator. In Back to Godhead, ISKON’s Bhagavad-Gita, it espouses the concept that through Mantra vibration it is possible to detonate an atomic bomb through the oscillation of the breath in sync with the vibration of sub-atomic particles. Visualization with deep-trance-meditation is the Shamanistic craft of the witch to change the self and circumstances. This is the foundation of the Silva Method of Mind Control.
Metaphysics cannot be separated from “Success: Full Living” since it appears to be the metaphysic of changing oneself and success in
life, a good thing if based on God’s revelation in Matthew 6: 25-34 rather than Metaphysics.
New-ageshop.com, says Dr. Jerry Jampolsky MD inspired Justin Belitz from A Course in Miracles. “Dr. Jampolsky can help you tune in the voice of your inner teacher.” It aims for a metamorphic paradigm to achieve your goals and the “inner teacher” is not the Holy Spirit. The Course in Miracles, a work by Marianne Williamson refers to the Holy Spirit. However, she says that, although the terminology in the book is Christian, the concepts are from many other sources. This Course was very popular with Catholics during the 80’s and appearing now in another form is a true Metaphysic.
In addition, Belitz offers “HEALING TOUCH – AVAILABLE AT THE HERMITAGE – Healing Touch is a relaxing, nurturing, energy therapy. Facilitated by: Richard Cornell Certified Instructor in Chi Lei Qi Gong, Tai Chi For Health, and a level 4 of Healing Touch.”
To add even more to his occult corruption of the Catholic Faith, he also offers the New Age occult, Law of Attraction. “The law of attraction is a metaphysical belief or theory, that “like attracts like,” and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results. According to the law of attraction, the phrase “I need more money” or “I don’t have enough money” allows the subject to continue to “need more money” or “not have enough money”. If the subject wants to change this they would focus their thoughts on the goal (having more money) rather than the problem (needing more money). This might take the form of phrases such as “I have more money now” or “I have more money than I need.”
The phrase “law of attraction” appeared in the writings of the Theosophical authors William Quan Judge in 1915, and Annie Besant in 1919. Besant compared her version of the ‘law of attraction’ to gravitation, and said that the law represented a form of karma. Apart from Co-freemasonry, Besant was the President of Theosophical Society. Besant met fellow Theosophist Charles Webster Leadbeater in London in April 1894. They became close co-
workers in the Theosophical Movement and would remain so for the rest of their lives. Leadbeater claimed clairvoyance and reputedly helped Besant become clairvoyant herself in the following year. In a letter dated 25 August 1895 to Francisca Arundale, Leadbeater narrates how Besant became clairvoyant. Together they clairvoyantly investigated the universe, matter, thought-forms, and the history of mankind, and co-authored several books.
Justin Belitz’ cannot be separated from his awards or beliefs – Putting a Big Mac in Hungry Jack’s wrapper does not make it a Whopper. The Metaphysical concept of man is diametrically opposed to the Biblical revelation of man in the divine image of God as well as Catholic doctrine. It is not a small matter, nor is it irrelevant. Changing oneself and achieving success and wealth is a good thing if it is based on Matthew 6: 25-34 and 2 Corinthians 5:17. Justin Belitz stars in this movie that blasphemes Jesus portrayed as a lesbian. Throughout this short promotional clip it also mocks Our Lady and other bible characters in the most disgusting manner. Go to WMV clip and at the bottom of the page you find Justin Belitz starring under “Other Actors.” Click Here: http://gospelofyes.collectivekitz.com/trailer.htm
In short, Fr. Justin Belitz is a very dangerous man and as a priest he is the proverbial Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing, and so, along with all the others of his ilk, I call on them all to repent and teach the Gospel and Lordship of Jesus Christ for which you are ordained to do!
UPDATE: We are pleased to announce that His Grace, Archbishop Timothy Costelloe, upon receiving my request and this Open Letter has, after investigation, banned Fr. Justin Belitz OFM from ministering in and visiting the Archdiocese of Perth, Western Australia. In this regard we hope other Bishops will now give this their consideration too.
